Citizen Scientists Needed

Observe and document in Boise parks

The City of Boise is looking for volunteers for citizen science projects. Monitor monarch butterflies or dragonflies. Both are migratory.

Boise parks are home to all types of wildlife which have a lot to teach us about our natural world. Boise Parks and Recreation works hard to provide safe spaces for our local wildlife to live, which not only includes habitat preservation but also tracking their activity to determine how they are doing. This is partially achieved through a number of citizen science programs that engage Boiseans in collecting scientific data, which is ultimately shared with national science programs. If you love to commune with nature and want to learn more about the natural world, then these programs are right up your ally.

Review responsibilities and learn about training here.
