A Free Plant? Sure!

I love it when I get a free plant. Even when I don’t know what it is. It’s a tomato, I think, but what kind?

We’ll all know in about a month

A few years ago, I was handed a business envelope filled with mystery beans. So I planted them.

Interesting blooms were white and black.

Result? They were lima/butter beans.

Tricky to prepare. They had to be shelled and then the waxy outer coating removed from each bean.

I sautéed them and they were good. Much better than the canned lima beans I remember not wanting to eat as a child.
