After mentioning the Necco wafer drama on the air for the past couple of years, I was delighted to find a roll at Lolli and Pops at Boise Towne Square.
I hadn’t tasted one of these in years. The wafers are often referred to as “chalky.” I appreciated the mild flavors and they weren’t overly sweet.

My favorites: chocolate, orange, lemon (there was only one of those in the roll), and lime.
The pink, purple and white were mystery flavors.
The purple reminds me of those zinc lozenges my mom used to make me eat when I had a cold.
Overall, they taste like nostalgia in all its gradients of good and bad.
