On the fire escape outside the second floor today, this bird was perched for about half an hour. It kept lifting its right talon toward its head slowly. We thought it might be injured and called a rescue organization for help. Eventually, it flew away after being badgered by a magpie that was likely bothered that the hawk was near a nest. ID help needed. I would guess it’s a Cooper’s hawk, but maybe not?
