Hoping for Monarchs

Milkweed is blooming in my garden. The dream is that a monarch butterfly mother will choose my yard for her babies.

In the meantime, the flowers are loved by bees and other butterflies. Honeybees and sweat bees in the photo above.

Seed pods are starting to develop. There will be plenty of seeds to share.

These will be ready to harvest when the seam begins to split.

I grow showy milkweed, Asclepias speciosa.
